January 5th - Beaver, Deer and Squirrels Oh My

A nice sunny morning. The beaver was out swimming around again in the early morning sun. It's beautiful when the sun reflects on the water in the morning. 

I took a lovely walk through the woods. There were several squirrels around.

I've seen this one several times sitting in the same tree. It is usually eating one of the black walnuts. You can see the 'dust' from them on the tree branch beneath the squirrel! I hope it survives the winter. There are several red-tailed hawks in the woods that prey on small animals. Every time I pass by the tree I look up hoping to see the squirrel there. 

The deer were in the field again. There were a couple sheltering beneath trees and one that was walking around trying to find something to eat. They really are such beautiful animals. I never tire of seeing them.
