April 2nd - 8th - Flora and Flooding

There still isn't much growing around. I did see a few Pussy Willows starting to grow. There aren't many around the lake.

I quite like these. They look so fluffy and furry.

There are still daffodils around. They fill the woods in several places. They seem very hardy and survive the snowfall we have been getting this springtime.

Things are still looking pretty bare. No sign of leaves on the trees down by the lake

The water is high though. There is flooding down by the small concrete platform that you can usually walk out on. No walking out on there now! It's completely underwater

You can't see the concrete platform at all.

I'm not sure if it's backed up from all the rain and the melted snow or because the Beaver Deceiver down where the big lake connects to the stream is blocked up from all the leaves.

It looks pretty blocked up to me. This was put in place a couple of years ago so that the beavers wouldn't dam up the connection between the large lake and the small stream that leads to a smaller lake.

Beavers can be fooled! They are such busy workers. Check out what they got up to this week in the next post!
